Marie, the best part about writing vampire novels is that you get to choose whatever you want. I do know that in the one, traditional (I believe Serbian) source I've read, vampires have red eyes after feeding recently, but otherwise have their original eye color (from when they were alive) in a glassier shade (i.e., dead eyes). Technically (if you want to be super traditional and true to the legends) you have to study the specific 'subspecies' of vampire; vampire is just a catch-all word for the blood-sucking monsters found in all cultures. Vampires originated from Eastern Europe, but spread even to the British Isles, and therefore the colonies, by the late 17th century. However, Native Americans, Asians, East Asians, and Africans all have their own 'vampire' legends. While I don't know off the top of my head their eye colors, I'm sure you could find them with a little research. Hope this helped! Private message me if you need anything else.
