Hey, Marie! I'll try to answer your question, but I'm not sure how well I'll do. To start off, necromancy as itself isn't really talked about or recorded separately- it is a type of magic, and it can range anywhere from just talking with the dead to bringing them back to life. Many different cultures have different limitations and taboos on necromancy. Necromancy is looked down upon in most cultures around the world; meddling with the hereafter wasn't seen as wise. Even in cultures where it wasn't against religion (as Necromancy is forbidden in Christianity, Islam, Judaism, etc) it was discouraged. In Celtic myths, bringing the dead back is quite possible; the only problem is that the resurrected can't speak. Since the Celts didn't have a written language (which means they had no concept of writing) the dead brought back couldn't communicate with the living. Another thing to keep in mind is what culture your Necromancer is in. The Celts brought their dead back with a magic cauldron, for instance, so it can play a big role in your story. The main point is that Necromancy wasn't usually written down because it was, more often than not, against the law where it was being practised. Just keep in mind a general idea of what you want your Necromancer to do and have a little fun with it. Hope that helps!
