Hey everyone! I know some of you from GothNoWriMo already, and am looking forward to meeting the new folks as they find the site.
I wish everyone luck on their projects, and I must say, it's nice to have a place where we can all hang out all year long.
See you around!

I agree, canardly! I knew I was really going to miss everyone after October. Now I don't have to.

I agree, canardly! I knew I was really going to miss everyone after October. Now I don't have to. I felt the same way. I've been doing really well at Nano so far, 10k in two days, pushing for 12k by the end of the day. December will be here so soon, and I've got to start planning that out now as well.

Thanks so much! I'm always open for more friends too. I'm actually planning my December Gothno right now, and it's turning out to be quite the task. I'll post the entire idea when I finish it, which will hopefully be soon.

Well, I've lost Nanowrimo, but it's okay. I've been getting ready to graduate college (again), so I've been studying, finishing up some classes, writing papers, etc.
I've managed to plan out my entire wriye though, so I'm ready when tomorrow rolls around. I'm doing short stories for each month, and then connecting them all into one larger body of work at the end of the year. Each month will be the next part of the story and will work to finish the previous month, and lead into the next. I'm excited about it all, and hoping it works out.
Unfortunatley I know I don't have a lot of time to write, so I'll only be shooting for 5K word counts each month. It allows time to revise, edit, rewrite, edit again, etc. before moving onto the next month, so by the time the wriye is finished, I've got a complete collection ready to send to print.
Good luck everyone! I'll be checking in from time to time.

Are you that far behind? I'm sorry. I understand how college gets in the way, though. That sounds like an awesome idea, Canardly. I think your plans will work out very well for you.

Hi Canardly, I love your idea for the monthly stories. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun to write and to read. And I especially like that you're shooting for a finished product. It's great to do these 50K challenges, but I eventually want all that work to lead to an actual book, so setting realistic goals that result in a real end product has a lot going for it in my eyes. Good luck with it.

Yeah, I was 20k behind this morning. It's okay though, I'm looking forward to this project, plus I can always keep working on the Nano novel at a later point when I'm not so busy! Thanks for the encouraging words.

I've got two large pieces of work laying around right now, and a third of lesser proportions just taunting me. It's horrible! Good luck to you too!

Started out strong this morning, and I'm happy with the direction the story is headed. I always leave room when plotting for my characters to take over and do their thing.
I've started marking chapters for the first time ever, and see now that by doing so, if I don't like a scene I can rewrite it without losing the backbone of the connecting chapters. It's pretty brilliant, and I'm quite thickheaded for having never done it before now. It'll definitely make editing easier in the long run when I can really hone in on a chapter and work and rework it for a while before moving onto the next one. It also allows me to focus on chapters out of order so things don't get boring during the editing stage.
I hope everyone's doing well with their writing.

Hey Canardly~ Just wanted to drop in; it looks like this month has started off pretty well for you! And good for you for marking chapters; I always try, but alas, I am quite stubborn and lazy. Good luck with the writing!

Hi Canardly, I envy you your chapters. I have yet to do that and now I am kicking myself. Trying to edit and figure out where to put them is a real pain. But I guess it's part of the learning curve. As well as finding out what does work each book teaches you what doesn't. Let's just say I have lots left to learn!
