What is GothNoWriYe?GothNoWriYe is just what the name suggests: A year of writing Gothic novels. Why are there only ten challenges when there are twelve months?Because GothNoWriMo (in October) will never be replaced and we didn't want to conflict with NaNoWriMo. Why are the boards so quiet around October?Because we're all over at the GothNoWriMo boards here. What is []NoWriMo?Some are obvious (e.g. Vamp, Were, Frank, Ghost) and some can be a little less clear (e.g. Nerco, Zo, SucIncu), so here's a quick list just so no one gets confused. GhostNoWriMo - To put it simply: Ghost stories VampNoWriMo - Vampires! (Duh...) WereNoWriMo - Werewolves and all other were-creatures FrankNoWriMo - Frankenstein-inspired works about people or things sewn back together wrong. NecroNoWriMo - Necromancers and the like. Can include zombies without being... ZoNoWriMo - Zombies! Mainly zombies. Apocalypse fiction works well here. SucIncuNoWriMo - Succubus, Incubus and all other demons, really. WizNoWriMo - Witches, Wizards, Warlocks and all the rest. FoLoNoWriMo - Folklore and Fairy tales - as long as they're Gothic. PoMoNoWriMo - Postmortem. Anything written from the point of view of someone dead. What are the rules?Simple. Choose the theme you want to work in, state your goal and wait at the starting line. What about forum rules?Don't be a jackass. That's about it.

You did a great job of setting this all up Jezzy. I hope that everyone will take this and run with it. Flexibility in goals and topics should make this attractive to anyone that loves gothic literature. I can't wait to get started. So are we planning the official kick off to start in December? Or are we waiting for the new year to kick off?

That's really up to you all. We can kick off in the cold drizzle of December or wait until the moon is high on the first of the year...
I think I'll have to ask the others on GothNo.

As i have said on Gothno, i was thinking we can start on December. And continue from December into the beginning and rest of the new year.

I don't see a problem with starting in December. We'll need a little project to tinker with to recuperate after NaNo. We're going to be writing anyway, why not be doing GothNoWriYe?

So, thus far it looks as if we all like the idea of kicking off on December 1. I actually want to start yesterday, but, I'll restrain myself. I'm just delighted that we are doing this. By the way Daemora, your banners look absolutely beautiful against this black background.

Oh Jezzy, you write the best introductory posts ever. It's such a laugh. Oh and I don't know who came up with the SucIncunowrimo but I am super psyched about that one. Awesome.

wolfyone - Thanks! I'm glad they aren't too annoying.
Jezzy - Yes! This post is awesome! And I love all the categories - I see many an old story idea becoming revived soon.
I do have one question - what if the moonster/creature in our story isn't eaxctly any of those things up there? I have one story that reads like a zombie tale, but the creatures are something incredibly different, completely made up off the top of my head. Where would I put that?

Hi Wrampage, if you would want to know who came up with SucIncuNoWriMo that would be me. Because i thought everyone will want to do this genre of the succubus and incubus stories themselves.

Hey Marie! I suppose you could say that the forums are 'half-dead' but not completely gone; a few of us are still going strong. We've all been so busy novelling that we forgot to keep in touch! XD
